Announcement of the New Domain Management and Registration System of NIC-Panama

Dear User:
We are in the process of renewing our platform. We are currently working on the development in -final phase- of our New Domain Management and Registration System.
This new system will work with user and password, using the Account Administrator Role.
Taking this into account, and to avoid future issues with the domains you keep registered, we need you to update your data.

To update your domain data, you must follow the steps below:In case you need to update the contacts data:
1. Any of the currently registered contacts must complete the domain modification form available in www.nic.pa in the Edit Domain option.

2. If the Applicant is not one of the Registered Contacts, NIC-Panama must receive written communication (in letterhead note) from the Domain Owner Organization (signed by the legal representative), expressing its desire to modify the domain and indicating the name and email address of the person authorized to request the changes. This letter must be emailed to nic@nic.pa.

In case you need to update the organization that owns the domain, either by Assignment or Transfer of Domain:
1. Procedure for the assignment or transfer of a Domain Name in NIC-Panama:

  • The holder of the domain is up to date with the renewal payments.
  • Written communication by the owner of the domain addressed to NIC-Panama, in which he identifies himself as such, and signs where he expresses his desire to transfer the domain name and identifies the new owner of the domain, (the TIN of the domain for ISPs), and an e-mail for future communications, either a private contract certified before Notary or Public Scripture, in which there has been express record of display of the documents enabling the presented persons (writing of legal personity, contract of mandate, etc.), with certification of validity and other formalities that are required in law.
  • The new owner of the domain must fill the registration application in the same way as requested for the first time.
  • The new domain owner comply with the fee payment as if they were requesting registration of the domain for the first time (registration fee). No domain assignment will be effected until the new domain owner does not pre-cancel the cost per registration of the domain. If fails to do so within the stipulated period, NIC-Panama, will keep the current registered information.

2. Procedure for Changing Organization Owner:

  • The holder of the domain is up to date with the renewal payments.
  • Written communication by the owner of the domain addressed to NIC-Panama, in which he identifies himself as such, and signs where he expresses his willingness to modify the name of the organization that owns the domain, given the case of a union of the companies or by change of social reason or if it has the need to grant the administration of the domain to a subsidiary organization and therefore only the owner has been corrected, it does not carry any cost.
